Yes, we said we'd gone but now we're back. Aw c'mon, we were lonely. For one night and one night only, then, Ninja Tune return to their recent home, c-c-c-c-Cargo to launch the next volume of our rather good and indeed fairly well loved series of DJ mixes "Solid Steel". This one is by the mighty Hexstatic duo and anyone who saw them prancing around in full fancy dress while cutting up (audiovisually, like) scenes from "Thriller" and "The Exorcist" for our Halloween bash will know they are in for a treat. But what a treat. Because the dynamic duo have decided that they will recreate their mix in 3D!!! Yes. First and foremost, because they will be there in the building DJing, touchable, pinchable even, iconic real men with newfangled cd decks and computers. Watch in amazement as they press buttons and smile real three dimensional smiles at the expectant throng. But there's more. The Hex Two will also be making special visuals for the evening including at least one track completely in widescreen technicolour 3D. To aid your watching pleasure, trained Ninja staff will be distributing 3D glasses on your arrival. We believe that this is a clubbing first (or at worst, a clubbing third) - the future delivered to you on a platter. In the same way that 3D visuals have come to utterly dominate the world of film and silver bodysuits are all we wear these days (as we all predicted in the 70s), within six months you won't be able to get into a club without a pair of cardboard glasses with a red lens and a green lens. Honest. It's coming. Now all you have to do is ingest a shedload of psychedelics before you come in and the evening will go with a "Aghthey'reeatingmethey'reeatingmegetthemoffme" kind of a bang. This should have been enough, but we decided to over egg the pudding. DJs on the night include the sophisticated West Country sounds of Hint, the banging but odd Pest and Ninja's resident poster boy, Bonobo. Blimey. We are too much. Get fucked up. |
